Packaging Structures: Folding, Rigid, and Mailer
Folding cartons, wrapped rigid boxes and e-commerce mailers are different box styles, and previews are available for specific box styles.
A structure is the geometry of the pack. Our products are built on box styles such as auto-bottom cartons, tuck ends, seal-end cartons, self-locking mailers, roll-end mailers, book-style boxes, telescope boxes, and RSC shippers.
Folding cartons are paperboard packs that ship flat. Rigid boxes are wrapped board constructions and are not interchangeable with a tuck carton. Mailers are product-sized shippers and are not RSC warehouse cartons.
2D dielines and 3D previews are available on product pages for specific box styles. Overview pages such as Custom Packaging or Branded Packaging point you to those products.
If you are unsure which family fits, compare catalog products or request a quote with the component size and whether the pack must ship without an outer carton.
Questions this article answers
- What structure should I choose?
- Match the job: folding carton for retail presentation, mailer for direct ship, rigid box for a wrapped gift presentation. The product page lists attached structures.
